Navigating the Shadows

A Personal Journey through the World of Intelligence

After years in the military working at an intelligence unit, I decided I had learned what I needed to and that it was time for a change. With that, I embarked on the new journey of pursuing education full-time. However, I quickly realized that a part-time paycheck and GI bill weren’t cutting it and that I needed a new source of income. Given my years of experience in a specialized field, I was certain that finding work would be a breeze. Unfortunately, this just wasn’t the case.

The first step was producing a passable resume that would get my foot in the door, and after doing some research, my rough draft produced during the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) class was nowhere near good enough. After several hours spent watching videos and having it reviewed by coworkers, I finally had something solid. But that was only really the first step in what would be a marathon.

Starting the search for work immediately presented just how daunting of a challenge it would be. Thousands of job listings all with stringent requirements, some of them not even actively hiring. After speaking with another veteran, I learned I wasn’t the only one that had experienced these troubles.

Seeing him, a qualified and experienced intelligence professional, forced to work a manual labor job while waiting to hear back from better-paying positions was just unacceptable to me. Not only was it a true waste of his talents, but really a detriment to national security. That’s when the idea for Telos Sentinel Recruiting began.

Our main goal revolves around the idea that working in intelligence isn't just a job—it's a duty. National security depends on having the right people in the right places. We've been through the struggles ourselves, so we know how important it is to match talent with opportunity.

Traditional hiring processes often miss the mark. They focus too much on resumes and overlook the qualities that truly matter—like unique perspectives and a strong sense of commitment. At Telos Sentinel Recruiting, we dig deeper. We want to make sure that the people we place aren't just qualified but are also driven by a real passion for what they do.

Every placement we make is a commitment to national security. We're dedicated to helping people find careers that align with their purpose. Our organization is proof that personal challenges can lead to a greater sense of service. As you explore our website, we hope you'll feel the passion and dedication that drive us, because working in intelligence isn't just a job—it's a calling.
